I have a roommate who is a serious fitness workaholic. Her everyday
routine includes doing aerobics and fitness videos for about 2 hours. In addition to her "regular" routine she also uses a thighmaster or
buttmaster everyday for 2 hours. Although my roommate gets tired and sore after working out amazingly she has enough energy the next day to do it all over again. I know exercise is suppose to be good but this seems like too much.

My 1st. question is my roommate doing more harm then good to herself?

2nd question can prolonged long term use of a thighmaster or
buttmaster cause injury?

Excercise is a great thing, but yes to much can be also harmful to your body. Your body has to have rest and time to recover. By doing the same excercise everyday over and over again your body will build up a resistance to that. And your gains will stop. Just by changing things up a bit you would not believe what that can and will do for your results. 4 hrs is extreme. Im a certified trainer and I can bring a client to complete exhaustion in 1 hr. So you have to be very careful when it comes to over training.

Prolonged use will not really cause injury but the results will definately slow down. And there are so many excercises that will do the same thing and also work other muscles groups with the same effort. We all want to try to get the most out of every excercise we do.
